CIAA chief Ghimire to get retirement today

Kathmandu, 13 September: Nabin Ghimire, Commissioner of the Commission for Investigation on Abuse of Authority (CIAA) is completing his tenure from today. Although expected strong action against corruption scandals, the CIAA under Ghimire’s command was unable to catch big fishes. Questions have been raised on the CIAA’s existence as an autonomous organ of the government as big scandals were kept pending. The CIAA has remained under the shadow of the government. Of late, Ghimire kept pending the cases related to the Nepal Oil Corporation purchased land and contract deal to construct railway track from Inarwa to Kakarvitta.
