Kathmandu, 26 September :The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has urged the government to resolve the issues of dissatisfaction of Dr Kc through dialogue and not to opt for complex option like fast-unto-death, which might put his life in peril.
A press release issued today by NHRC’s Secretary Bed Bhattarai drew the government’s attention, urging it to be serious towards the basic human rights issues like education, to take possible initiative to save Dr KC’s life being serious towards the past agreements signed with him time and again and to make public the implementation status of the agreements.
The NHRC said that its attention has been drawn towards health condition of Dr KC, who has been staging fast-unto-death since September 14, putting forth the demand of implementation of past agreements signed with government for reform in medical education. Attention has been drawn towards the memorandum submitted at the NHRC by different organisations like Nepal Medical Association requesting it to take necessary efforts to save Dr KC’s life.
