Three persons, including campus chief, have been absconding ever since police issued an arrest warrant against them in Kavre’s Banepa.
A fraud charge was filed against three people including Kavre Multiple Campus Chief KJ Baidar in Kavre’s Banepa Municipality, with Area Police Office, Banepa.
Parents and guardians of Grades XI and XII students had filed the fraud case with area police office on September 17, stating that they were swindled by the college The Area Police Office, Banepa issued an arrest warrant against Campus Chief Baidar, Management Committee Chairman Lambodar Kayastha and management committee member Kripendra Shrestha the next day.
All Nepal Independent Students’ Union had padlocked the campus administration office and account section demanding the resignation of the campus chief and return of the fees paid by the students on 9 February 2020.
The padlock was opened for police investigation last Thursday, said All Nepal Independent Students’ Union central member Shalikram Parajuli.
According to him, students were agitated after the college taught Nepali and English instead of Physics and Chemistry to the students, who aspired to pursue engineering studies at bachelor level.
The fraud came to the surface after the National Examination Board informed that the students would not be eligible to study Computer Engineering at the bachelor programme and they would also not be able to sit for Grade XI examination due to wrong combination of subjects.
Campus Chief Baidar had been claiming that some external forces had been launching activities to tarnish the image of the campus.
Around 1000 students have been studying at the campus.
