Kathmandu, 29 September: With an aim to initialize operationalization of Transit Transport Agreement,2016 and its protocol,2019, the meeting of the joint working group on trade between Nepal and China is being held today.
The meeting will dwell on establishment of Nepal-China Cross border Economic Zone and co-operation to develop the trade infrastructure, the smooth operation of Nepal-China international border to run the trade and commerce, among others, according to the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies.
It may be noted that around 2,000 containers with clothes, shoes and electronic devices worth at least Rs.20 billion are stranded at two border points with the northern neighbour. Its is said that cargo clearance has been slow due to Covid-19 safety protocols.
