Bamdev Gautam’s nomination challenged

Kathmandu, 22 September: Bamdev Gautam’s nomination as the National Assembly member has been challenged at the Supreme Court.
Senior advocate Dinesh Tripathi has registered a writ petition challenging the government’s nomination of Nepal Communist Party vice-chairman Gautam to the post of the NA member.
Tripathi has demanded the court to cancel the government decision.
Tripathi has argued that nomination of an individual as the NA member, during the same tenure of this defeat in the parliamentary election, is against the people’s mandate.
Tripathi has also argued that Gautam is not eligible to become the minister as well.
