After Finance Minister resigned last week, people of different walks of life have expressed their happiness over his ousting from the ministry.
From businessmen to filmmakers and managers, many have written in their social sites that everyone was happy with the ousting of a ‘bad’ finance minister. Not only general masses but also NCP leaders look happy with his ousting.
They termed Dr Khatiwada as a weak finance minister of a powerful government. He brought no programme in favour of the people in two years. Instead, he tried to collect revenue only.
Moreover, he began leading the Ministry with a false claim that he was appointed Finance Ministry when the national coffer was left empty by the Nepali Congress. Not only Gyanendra Bahadur Karki who was finance minister before Khatiwada refuted the blame but he economic indicators also proved he was wrong. Now after leading the ministry for two and a half years, Dr Khatiwada has left an empty coffer. Yet, PM Oli is favouring Dr Khatiwada for the latter’s relations with international donors. It is also rumoured that PM Oli favours Khatiwada because the latter had built the former a house in Bhaktapur.
