Kathmandu, 9 October: For months, chairmen duo of the ruling Nepal Communist Party, KP Sharma Oli and Pushpakamal Dahal Prachanda are holding a meeting every day. Every time, they are discussing sharing the power and assignment of their men. Of late, they are busy in making the list of those who should be included in the cabinet reshuffle.
The nation is facing a serious crisis due to the coronavirus pandemic. Kathmandu Valley has turned into the hotspot of the pandemic. Covid-19 infected people are unable to get treatment as hospitals are fully occupied. The health ministry spokesman is saying not to visit the hospital unless the patient reaches to the senseless condition. There is the scarcity of ventilator in hospitals. How to cope with the pandemic, the government has no plan! Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has given priority to assign his dearest aide Yubraj Khatiwada as the ambassador to the USA and reshuffling his cabinet.
For months, the chairmen duo are talking about cabinet reshuffle but they are unable to reach to a conclusion. Every day, the two leaders meet and claim each other’s share in the new reshuffle.
On Thursday also, the two chairmen held a meeting in Baluatar. Prachanda handed over a name list to Oli to include in the cabinet.
According to the Jana Aastha online portal, Prachanda has recommended eight names from former Maoists in which, he has asked to continue home minister Rambahadur Thapa, energy minister Barshaman Pun and drinking water minister Bina Magar.
Other names recommended by Prachada are Pampha Bhushal, Janardan Sharma, Devendra Poudel, Matrika Yadav and Dev Gurung.
When out of the eight names, PM Oli strongly expressed his dissatisfaction on four names, Prachanda has felt odd.
Oli has asked to exclude four names and to recommend other names, the online portal has reported.
PM Oli has hinted to Prachanda to include Topbahadur Rayamajhi, Haribol Gajurel, Lekhraj Bhatta and Prabhu Shah in his list.
In the list prepared by PM Oli and handed over to Prachanda, Bishnu Poudel, Bhim Rawal, Tulasha Thapa (Bamdev Gautam’s wife), Surendra Pandey, Mahesh Basnet and Gokul Banskota are included.
However, Prachanda didn’t react to Oli’s selection.
PM Oli is not interested to continue agriculture minister Ghanashyam Bhushal and education minister Girirajmani Pokhrel.
