More than dozen locals injured in a clash over naming the street in Rautahat
Province 2, Rautahat, Gujara, Ward 1 - #Political, Youths of two wards of Gujra Municipality, Rautahat clashed over naming a street (chowk) between wards 1 and 7 on October 27. A few days ago, the board of Paraswa Chowk was demolished and the board of Manarahawa Chowk was put up. however, the controversy turned into a scuffle after the board was painted black. Police fired in the air and fired tear gas to control the clash. More than a dozen people have been injured in the incident. Locals alleged that Raj Kishor Vantha, chairman of Ward 1 and Mofil Chaudhary, chairman of Ward 7 were responsible for the clash. So far, police have not arrested anyone involved in the incident. The chowk between Manarahawa and Paraswa villages has been called Paraswa Chowk for the last 10 years. The name of this chowk has been disputed almost every Dashain festival. People of Manarahawa village have been saying that the chowk should be named Manarahawa Chowk.
