Nepal Covid-19 tally: 1,741 new cases, 4,005 recoveries, 15 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, October 26

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 159,830 as of Monday afternoon.

The ministry says 1,741 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

Of the new cases, 895 are from the Kathmandu valley.

In this period, 5,006 swab samples were tested. So far, 1 million and 398,179 people have been tested in the country.

As of today, 43,293 cases are active currently. Among them, 32,607 are in home isolation. Likewise, 285 are in intensive care units and 64 on ventilators.

Of the total cases so far, 115,675 people have achieved recovery whereas 862 died, according to the ministry. In the past 24 hours, 4,005 people have been discharged whereas 15 deaths have been reported. Nepal’s current recovery rate is around 72.4 per cent.

Of 77 districts of Nepal, Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Chitwan, Makawanpur, Kavre, Kaski, Nawalparasi, Dang, Rupandehi, Banke, Surkhet and Kailali have more than 500 active cases each. Mustang does not have any active case.

Over 2,900 people are quarantined across the country.
