Kathmandu, 2 October: The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has announced up to 25 percent discount on the payment of electricity tariffs in advance.
The NEA, through a public notice, decided. not to slap fines on electricity consumers for the time being and urged consumers to take electricity bills to the respective counters in the event its official cannot read the meter and unable to furnish the bills.
According to the rules, a consumer is entitled to enjoy 25 percent discount on the payments within a week including the day when the meter is read. No fine is imposed while making the payments between eight and 15 days.
