Kathmandu reports its highest single-day spike of 1,638 Covid-19 cases

Kathmandu, 3 October: As many as 1,638 new cases of the corona virus infection have been reported in Kathmandu Valley on Friday, as per the information provided by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) in its daily media briefing Friday afternoon.

Among the 1,638 cases detected on Friday, 1,280 were detected in Kathmandu while 162 cases of transmission have been recorded in Lalitpur and 196 cases in Bhaktapur, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

The new infections were confirmed through PCR tests conducted across healthcare facilities in the valley including National Public Health Laboratory, Patan Hospital, HAMS Hospital, Star Hospital, Sukraraj Tropical and Infectious Disease Hospital, Nepal Korea Friendship Municipality Hospital and Birendra Military Hospital.
