Bamdev Gautam faces fresh legal obstacle in becoming a minister

Kathmandu, 24 September: The Supreme Court has issued an interim order to the government for not assigning newly nominated National Assembly member Bamdev Gautam to any constitutional posts.
However, the court has not given any verdict against Gautam’s nomination to the NA.
In a primary hearing on a writ petition registered by senior advocate Dinesh Tripathi, the bench of SC justice Aanandamohan Bhattarai on Wednesday asked the government for not assigning any constitutional responsibility to Gautam.
The government decision for nominating an election defeated person is highly criticized.
