Former Nepali Congress prime minister Girija Prasad Koirala, true to form, has of late not merely continued on his anti-UML binge. He has now openly begun to canvas support from the RPP in an attempt to oust the minority government and replace it with a NC/RPP coalition.
While Congress intellectuals and lawyers are busy churning out the view that if the UML government falls the Constitutional option for a coalition government would be activated, as per Artical42(1), Koirala has rejected the UML’s official position that if its government loses the confidence of the House, a mid-term poll would be inevitable.
