
Kathmandu, 6 October: As many as 1,531 new cases of the corona virus infection have been reported in Kathmandu Valley on Monday, as per the information provided by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) in its daily media briefing on Sunday afternoon.
Among the 1,531 cases detected on Monday, 1,178 were detected in Kathmandu while 250 cases of transmission have been recorded in Lalitpur and 103 cases in Bhaktapur, according to the MoHP.
The three districts in the Kathmandu Valley- Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur- are among the districts with the highest number of Corona virus infection. So far, over thirty thousand people have contracted the virus and 165 fatalities relating to the deadly virus has been recorded. On Monday, Kathmandu recorded nine fatalities and Lalitpur registered three deaths.
The new infections were confirmed through PCR tests conducted across healthcare facilities in the valley including National Public Health Laboratory, Patan Hospital, HAMS Hospital, Star Hospital, Sukraraj Tropical and Infectious Disease Hospital, Nepal Korea Friendship Municipality Hospital and Birendra Military Hospital.
