Kathmandu, 8 October: The government has formed a three-member committee led by Secretary at the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology Gopinath Mainali to hold talks with agitating Professor Dr Govinda KC.
It may be noted that Dr KC is on a fast-unto-death since the past 24 days demanding reforms in medical education and health sector. Dr KC who began his strike from Jumla is currently fasting from the TU Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj , Kathmandu.
As per the direction of the government, a team led by Secretary Mainali had also met Dr KC and urged him to call off the strike. However, Dr KC demanded for the implementation of passed deals. He too has formed a two member team for talks with the government. Both teams are scheduled to seat for talks today.
