The President’s tea party, photo session with media persons

Kathmandu, 25 July: When the nation and people are facing multiple crises and people are unable to sense the presence of the government, President Bidya Devi Bhandari is free, thus invited 30 media persons for a tea party on Friday afternoon.

According to journalist Tirtha Koirala of the Thaha Khabar, the President invited a group of media persons and described works done by the government. She appreciated the government for its works. So far, she said “off the record” whenever she was saying something to the journalists.

She then started a photo session with journalists invited for the tea reception.

Meanwhile, last week, she had invited Nepal Communist Party senior leader and former prime minister Madhav Nepal, according to the Jana Aastha vernacular weekly.

She had requested Nepal to keep unity in the party so that the party could elect next President from among the party leadership after completion of her tenure.

“You know, I am not here forever. I wish to hand over the President’s post to another leader from the party,” she said to Nepal.

She had described that if the ruling Nepal Communist Party will split, the party may not get a chance to elect the next President from the party.

By analyzing the above activities of the President, one can easily assume that President Bhandari has not been able to become the President of the nation but she is happy to be the President of the NCP only.
