Kathmandu, 25 July: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and main opposition party leader Sher Bahadur Deuba held a meeting on Friday at PM’s official residence in Baluatar.
This is the second meeting since the two leaders held a one-on-one meeting on Thursday.
The main opposition party Nepali Congress (NC) has decided to strongly protest against the government for not tackling the Covid-19 pandemic effectively. On the other hand, the possibility of a split in the ruling party has not been over as the dispute has further prolonged.
On Friday also, Madhav Nepal and Pushpakamal Dahal, speaking from the same stage, said that the crisis in the party has not been over. Nepal said that the party will not split even if a small faction will be ousted from the party. They were stuck on their previous demand, the resignation of Oli from the post of the PM and party chairman.
Meanwhile, a section of political observers sees the chances of formation of an alliance government of the NC and NCP’s splitting group.
Baluatar has clarified said that the meeting between Oli and Deuba was aimed at the appointment in the constitutional organs.
