Kathmandu, 18 July: The new monetary policy for fiscal year 2020/21 unveiled by the Nepal Rastra Bank on Friday is commended by local entrepreneurs stating that it has addressed a large portion of their concerns.
They have stated that the monetary policy would help to mobilize the Covid-19 affected economy at large.
Nepal Rastra Bank governor Maha Prasad Adhikari, unveiling the monetary policy for the new fiscal year stated that the policy is aimed at re-driving the economy devastated by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The policy has categorized three sectors highly affected by the pandemic and announced a relief package to them. The policy, however, has not identified the seriously affected sectors.
Nevertheless, the private sector, which was dissatisfied from the budget presented by Finance Minister Yubraj Khatiwada, has been satisfied with the government’s monitory policy.
