NCP secretariat meeting today, standing committee meeting tomorrow

Kathmandu, 18 July: Nepal Communist Party chairmen-duo KP Sharma Oli and Pushpakamal Dahal have called party secretariat meeting for today to discuss the agendas for the proposed central committee meeting. Following today’s secretariat meeting, the standing committee meeting is scheduled to hold on Sunday.

Both the meetings are aimed at setting the agendas for the central committee meeting.

The NCP chairmen duo’s meeting on Friday decided to call the secretariat meeting by postponing the standing committee meeting set for Friday till Sunday.

The Dahal-Nepal camp in the party has demanded PM and party chairman Oli’s resignation  from both the posts, whereas, Oli has denied to quit any of the posts and decided to face the party action against him.

Foreign powers’ interests in the NCP dispute:

Not an odd, Delhi wants to topple down Oli. Oli himself has publicly said that Delhi has provoked some leaders against him. In the meantime, Washington wants a split in the party and formation of a collation government between the Oli camp and the Nepali Congress aimed at the endorsement of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC). Beijing, which had earlier maintained defensive diplomacy, has sent the message through the ambassador that it has wished for a stable government.
