CHITWAN, JANUARY 18
Two new species of birds have been spotted in Chitwan National Park and its surrounding areas. These birds had not been spotted in the previous years.
According to former chairperson of Bird Education Society, Basu Bidari, the new birds are Dunlin and Northern Lyakun. Dunlin was found at Reu rivulet of Madi and Lyakun at a farmland in Divyanagar, he added.
The four species of birds spotted last year were not seen this year. With the two new species, 53 species of water birds were counted this year. Fifty-seven bird species were spotted last year.
