KATHMANDU: Two matches under the 4th edition of the Prime Minister’s Cup one-day men’s cricket tournament are scheduled for today.
The first match between Sudurpaschim Province and Province 2 begun at 9:00 am at the TU cricket ground, Kirtipur.
Sudurpaschim decided to field first after winning the toss. It may be noted that both the teams have already been out of the tournament, as they failed to progress to the semi-finals.
The APF Club and Tribhuvan Army Club qualified from this group.
Likewise, the second match is taking place between Bagmati Province and Lumbini Province at Mulpani cricket ground in Kathmandu. Bagmati chose to bat first after winning the toss. Bagmati will qualify to the semi-finals if it secures a win against Lumbini today. It leads the group as of today, winning all its three matches so far.
Till now, Province 2 posted 176 runs at the loss of 8 wickets in 38/50 overs in the match between Province 2 and Sudurpaschim. Smilarly, Bagmati Province has made 156 runs at 6 wickets in 40/50 overs.
Lumbini too has a chance to qualify but has to secure a win with a very high margin.
