Various programmes were organised to mark the death anniversary of late Gajendra Narayan Singh in various Tarai districts today.
In Rajbiraj, Saptari, Gajendra Narayan Singh Research Centre, Saptari, organised different programmes on the 19th death anniversary of Singh, who was the founding chairperson of the then Nepal Sadbhawana Party.
Today itself, inaugurating the newly-built Gajendra Narayan Singh Research Centre on the premises of District Coordination Committee at a programme, chief guest senior Janata Samajbadi Party-Nepal leader Rajendra Mahato dwelt on the late leader’s contribution to the struggle for the rights of the Madhesi and marginalised communities.
“The contribution that he (Singh) had made for the sake of the identity and rights of the Madhesi, indigenous, Muslims, and marginalised communities will always be remembered by posterity,” Mahato observed.
Various other leaders, including National Assembly members Mrigendra Kumar Singh Yadav and Shekh Kumar Singh, Provincial Assembly members Manish Suman, Bindeshwor Yadav, and Netra Bikram Sah also spoke on the occasion.
