NCP task force’s initial proposal ready, re-elaborates November 20 pact

Kathmandu, 21 August : The six-member task force formed to find common ground ti settle the intra-party feud within the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has prepared an initial draft re-elaborating the pact reached between Prime Minister Khadga Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal on November 20, 2019.

After the conclusion of four rounds of meetings of the task force led by party General Secretary Bishnu Poudel, it has recommended to warring leaders duo Oli and Dahal not to interfere into each other’s works.

According to the initial draft, Oli shall run the government for full term and Dahal shall not interfere into it while Oli shall not intervene into party activities maneuvered Dahal. Both leader shall consult each other for major decisions including political appointments. Organise General Convention of the party in March /April, as per the decision of the Central Working Committee.

The top leadership shall be elected in consensus, if the General Convention fails to do so, it shall be decided through majority system and Oli shall back Dahal for the party’s top post. Oli shall continue as Prime Minister for full five-year-term but reshuffle the current Cabinet. Reshuffle Provincial governments as per the requirement. Continue the stalled Standing Committee meeting and resume discussion of  the agendas that surfaced earlier and address the demands of the Central Working Committee members.
