Government prepares to introduce new aviation policy


Kathmandu, 30 August: The government is preparing to introduce a new aviation policy soon. The government has already completed the final draft of the policy. After the introduction of the new aviation policy, one cannot import aircraft more than 12 years older.
According to the new provision, an aircraft having completed 12 years of manufacture date or completing 50 per cent of the economic design life or completing 35 thousand pressurization cycle are not allowed to import.
Earlier, 15 years old aircraft were also allowed to import and operate service in the country, reports Aarthik Abhiyan daily.
The government has also encouraged establishing aircraft maintenance and aviation-related training centres.
The new policy has allowed for keeping private aircraft for personal uses.
