Assault on medical store vendors lead to the shutdown of medical stores in Birjung

Province 2, Parsa, Birgunj - #Covid-19, #Governance, After Parsa police physically assaulted medical store vendors, almost all medical stores in Birjung remained closed today. Employees of Trishakti Medical Hall were physically assaulted by the police and when Director Dilip Bikram Shah intervened, he was arrested. Medical stores and their employees were agitated when they came to know that the medical store vendors were beaten up and imprisoned by the police. The medical stores remained closed, saying that the police committed atrocities while they were providing services even under the ban. Ward Police of Birta later arrested 3 other agitated medical store owners. Among those arrested while closing the shop are Ujjwal Manish Srivastava, Suraj Chandra Singh, and Dilip Shah. A ban has been imposed in Parsa for the past one month to reduce the risk of COVID 19 infection. Due to Coronavirus, urban as well as rural areas of Parsa, have seen infected cases. All services are closed except for essential services.
