Govt approves English edition of new map

Kathmandu, 15 August: The Ministry of Land Management, Cooperative and Poverty Alleviation has approved the English edition of Nepal’s new map.
Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Padma Kumari Aryal on Friday approved the new political and administrative map of the country in English edition which was prepared by the Department of Survey.

The new political and administrative map also includes Limpiyadhura, Lipulek and Kalapani. The new map was published in the Nepal Gazette on May 22 this year. It may be recalled that the Ministry had unveiled the map on May 20 after the Cabinet meeting decided to publish the updated map by incorporating Limpiyadhura, Kalapani and Lipulek as its territory adding additional 335 square metres of land in the Nepal’s area.

The approval of new map in English edition has paved way for Nepal to send its revised map to the UNO headquarters, foreign diplomatic missions and international community, according to the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation.
