‘Covid-19, neglecting basic safety measures could be sucidal’

Kathmandu, 2 August : The government has warned of a suicidal with the general people largely neglecting basic public health standards for Covid-19.

Following the lifting of around four-month-long lockdown , the general people have been lately seen not following proper health safety  measures while stepping outside like not wearing facemasks, not maintaining physical distancing and being in groups, thus increasing the risks.

Pointing out at increasing risks, the Ministry of Health and Population has urged one and all to be alert. People’s negligence towards the infection might be a suicidal, said Prof Dr Jageshwor Gautam, Spokesperson for the Ministry at a regular press briefing. He urged people to strictly follow the Covid-19 rules and take maximum caution against the infection. Noting that people entering Nepal via border checkpoints were found to have sent to home without keeping them in quarantines of late, he asked to make good arrangements for quarantine until their swab samples are collected and reports made available.
