11th Panchen Lama prays to Buddha in Lhasa

Recently, Panchen Erdeni Choskyi Gyalpo, a member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC, vice-president of the Buddhist Association of China, and president of the Tibet Branch of the Buddhist Association of China, carried out Buddhist activities in Lhasa.

The 11th Panchen Lama visited Sangpu Monastery in Doilungdeqen District, Rato Monastery in Chushur County, and Ruba Monastery in Nyemo County to worship the Buddha, give sermon and pray for the country and people.

Sangpu Monastery was built in 1073. It is located on a mountain six kilometers east of Senda Township in Doilungdeqen District, about 30 kilometers from the city of Lhasa.
