China to conduct detailed feasibility study on Kerung-Kathmandu railway

Kathmandu, 27 November: China is going to complete detail feasibility study on proposed Kerung-Kathmandu railway within two years.

China will bear all technical costs for the study. Nepal has to manage expenses on land compensation and resettlement of the locals.

The Tuesday meeting between the senior officials of Nepal and China held in Physical Infrastructure and Transportation Ministry had endorsed the agreement, reports Naya Patrika daily.

In the bilateral meeting, both the sides also discussed on proposed Kathmandu-Pokhara-Lumbini railway. It was informed that the length of the proposed railway will be 157 kms.

The Chinese team, to conduct field study, is going to Lumbini today.
