Kathmandu, 1 December: Nepal Communist Party (NCP) candidates have swept out in local elections in most of the local bodies. By elections were conducted on 30 November.
NC has been able to save its position in some local bodies only. Accordingly, RJP and Socialist Party have been able to save face. RPP, RPP United have not been able to show their presence.
The by elections have been taken as a referendum on the popularity of the political parties.
The present outcome shows that NCP is still a strong and popular party. NC and other political parties have been rejected by the voters.
