Kathmandu, 11 August: The government has decided to suspend long-distance public transportation and air service until 31 August.
The cabinet meeting held on Monday evening has decided to halt air service and long-distance public transportation considering the high rate of spreading Covid-19 pandemic in the Valley and other districts.
With the conclusion of the increasing rate of Covid-19 infection in the country, the government has decided to prolong the suspension period further.
The meeting has decided to resume air service and long-distance public transportation from 1 September.
Earlier, the government had planned to resume air service and long-distance transportation from 17 August.
The government, so far, has decided to close Nepal-India border points until 16 September.
