As many as 42 Armed Police Force personnel have contracted Covid-19 in Chitwan of southern Nepal.
When 60 personnel of an APF battalion in Bhandara, Rapti municipality-6 were tested at Bharatpur Hospital Covid-19 Test Lab, 42 tested positive, according to the municipality’s health section chief Suresh Neupane. Of them, 40 are men and two women, all aged between 19 and 55.
As the infection was confirmed in too many personnel at once, isolating them has been difficult, Neupane says, adding, 15 of them have shown symptoms.
Before this, the battalion had eight Covid-19 cases. Of them, two are undergoing treatment at Bharatpur Hospital whereas six are isolated at the battalion itself.
Meanwhile, three nurses and two cleaners of Bharatpur Central Hospital also contracted Covid-19.
