DHARAN, DECEMBER 28
Nepali Congress central member Shekhar Koirala today held Nepal Communist Party (NCP) leaders Madhav Kumar Nepal and Pushpa Kamal Dahal equally responsible, apart from Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, for the dissolution of the House of Representatives.
Koirala stated that Madhav Kumar Nepal and Pushpa Kamal Dahal were equally responsible in breaching the constitution and rule of law. “Nepali Congress will have to maintain equi-distance with both factions of the Nepal Communist Party,” Koirala said.
He stressed the need to abide by the verdict of the Supreme Court.
He, however, said agitation was important to ensure that polls were held on the slated dates.
Addressing a mass meeting of his party in Biratnagar, Dr Koirala said that his party had no choice but to abide by the apex court’s verdict. “NC is the largest democratic force. Thus, we will respect the apex court’s decision. But, we will have to keep pressing on with the agitation to force Oli to hold elections on time,” he added.
Koirala directed the party rank and file to make people aware at every local level about the anti-democratic activities of the Nepal Communist Party and ramp up support for the NC.
