DHARAN, DECEMBER 28
Bhim Acharya, a Nepal Communist Party (NCP) leader close to the Dahal-Nepal camp, who is seen as a prospective chief ministerial candidate in Province 1, has said he will make a consensus government by bringing on board all political parties.
“In view of the present crisis and considering the people’s aspirations, I will make a consensus government by taking all parties on board,” said the leader, speaking to journalists in Biratnagar, Morang, today.
Further, Acharya said it was high time that all democratic forces came together to deal with the crisis facing the nation.
“A consensus government is an imperative also because we have to fight against the elements that are trying to take the country backward. This will be possible only when we’re united and strong,” argued the leader.
When asked, Acharya said there was a need to remove the incumbent government at the province as it had supported Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s regressive move.
“In fact, the current provincial government has failed to work by understanding the aspirations of the people,” he said.
Earlier, yesterday, some 37 NCP (NCP) leaders had registered a no-confidence motion against incumbent CM Sherdhan Rai with the Provincial Assembly secretariat.
