Kathmandu, 8 December: Bamdev Gautam, proposed vice chairman of the Nepal Communist Party and currently chief of the Orgaisation Department of the party, talking to the government news agency RSS, said that he is capable to become the prime minister and he should be the prime minister.
Gautam recalled that in the last general elections, both the leaders KP Sharma Oli and Pushpakamal Dahal had given words to him saying that as all his colleagues in the party have already become the PM, the next term to become the PM was for Gautam.
Unfortunately, he defeated the elections.
Again, Gautam has recalled that once PM Oli had given words to him saying that he was bringing Gautam in the parliament.
Gautam had bluntly replied, “I will go to the National Assembly at that time when a member of the National Assembly can become the PM”.
“The constitution has to be amended to make me the National Assembly member,” he said.
Responding to another question, Gautam said, “Shouldn’t I be the PM?”
Gautam remarked that in a parliamentary democracy, separate leaders have to lead the party and the government.
Gautam observed that although NCP has won by-elections, one should not be encouraged from the election result. Compared to the last general elections, NCP was unable to save its vote and also in some key municipalities, NCP had to face defeat.
