Panchthar minor goes missing in Hewa

PHIDIM: An eight-year old boy has gone missing after the Hewa River swept him away in Phidim of Panchthar district on Wednesday.

The missing minor has been identified as Rishab Katuwal, son of local Resham Katuwal of Phidim-4.

According to the Panchthar District Police Office, the child had fallen off the bridge while he was playing with his friends on Wednesday evening.

ASI Khadga Giri had immediately deployed a rescue team of 11 police personnel as soon as the case was reported, but were unsuccessful to rescue, said Information Officer of Panchtar District Police office, Bijay Shrestha.

Police had carried out a search for him from the point he went missing to the river’s confluence into the Tamor River.
