Tumbahamphe turns tough towards Oli and Prachand

Kathmandu, 14 January : Speaker aspirant  Deputy Speaker  Shivamaya Tumbahamphe has turned down her party’s president duo Khagda Oli and Pushpakamal Dahal’s request of steeping down from the post of deputy speaker and pave the way for selection of a new Speaker.  She has  clarified that she would not resign from the post  until the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) requests her for carrying out the election after finalizing the candidate for the post of Speaker. She has also rejected a letter sent by the NCP’s Secretariat requesting her to resign from the post.

She is of the view that it is not in accordance with the Constitution to issue directive by any political party to any individual, leading the important body like parliament due to different contexts, asking to step down from the post.
