Province 2 govt to provide Rs 500,000 to Dilip Mahato’s family

Janakpurdham, January 13

The Province 2 government has decided to provide Rs 500,000 assistance to the family of Dilip Kumar Mahato. Mahato, a resident of Mithila municipality-5 of Dhanusha district, was reportedly killed after he protested illegal sand mining in his neighbourhood.

A meeting of the Provincial Council of Ministers made the decision on Monday morning, according to the government spokesperson and Minister for Internal Affairs and Law, Gyanendra Yadav.

Mahato was murdered on Friday morning. Police have arrested four persons for further investigation into the case.
