Virus surge continues as Kathmandu Valley reports 1,630 new cases

Kathmandu, 3 November: As many as 1,630 new cases of the corona virus infection have been reported in Kathmandu Valley on Monday, as per the information provided by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) in its daily media briefing on Monday afternoon.

Among the 1,630 cases detected on Monday, 1,362 are reported in Kathmandu while 164 cases of transmission have been recorded in Lalitpur and 96 cases in Bhaktapur district, according to the MoHP.

The three districts in the Kathmandu Valley- Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur- are among the districts with the highest number of Corona virus infection. So far, Kathmandu has recorded 16,118 cases while Lalitpur has 2,288 and Bhaktapur 1,033 has infection cases.

The new infections were confirmed through PCR tests conducted across healthcare facilities in the valley including National Public Health Laboratory, Patan Hospital, HAMS Hospital, Star Hospital, Sukraraj Tropical and Infectious Disease Hospital, Nepal Korea Friendship Municipality Hospital and Birendra Military Hospital.
