Virus surge continues as Kathmandu Valley reports 1,746 new cases

Kathmandu, 18 October: As many as 1,746new cases of the corona virus infection have been reported in Kathmandu Valley on Saturday, as per the information provided by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) in its daily media briefing on Wednesday afternoon.

Among the 1,746 cases detected on Saturday, 1,451 were detected in Kathmandu while 143 cases of transmission have been recorded in Lalitpur and 1,451 cases in Bhaktapur, according to the MoHP.

The three districts in the Kathmandu Valley- Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur- are among the districts with the highest number of Corona virus infection. So far, Kathmandu has recorded 18,252 cases while Lalitpur has 2,804 and Bhaktapur 2,973 has infection cases.

The new infections were confirmed through PCR tests conducted across healthcare facilities in the valley including National Public Health Laboratory, Patan Hospital, HAMS Hospital, Star Hospital, Sukraraj Tropical and Infectious Disease Hospital, Nepal Korea Friendship Municipality Hospital and Birendra Military Hospital.
