Kathmandu, 20 October: The ruling Nepal Communist Party has summoned its Central Committee (CC) meeting from October 31 to November 2. But, the CC meeting amid the spread of the pandemic coronavirus infection is sure to witness challenges as more than 2,000 new cases of the virus are reported in the Kathmandu Valley lately.
Earlier, the party’s Standing Committee meeting had decided to summon the CC meeting, reshuffle the council of ministers by resolving the intra-party feuds and go for the general convention of unity. The upcoming CC meeting is being held as per the same decision. However, it is still uncertain if the CC meeting will be held.
According to a standing committee member, it may be tough to conduct the meeting as the cases of virus are increasing across the country including in the valley. At least 3,000 human resources are needed to manage the meeting that will have the presence of 447 CC members. The meeting has not been postponed. The top leaders are thinking for a virtual meeting.
