Oli, Dahal for one-on-one talks, Nepal suspicious
Kathmandu, 7 July: Nepal Communist Party chairmen duo KP Sharma Oli and Pushpakamal Dahal have decided to hold one-on-one talks to seek point of agreement. Both the leaders have decided to hold one-on-one talks today.
Earlier, both the leaders were holding talks at the presence of their confident leaders.
Meanwhile, Madhav Nepal, senior leader in the party has become suspicious from any possible alliance between Oli and Dahal by sidelining him.
The possible point of agreement could be Oli to continue as the PM by handing over the party responsibility to Dahal, which will be counterproductive for Nepal. If Oli and Dahal will develop long-term alliance in sharing power, Nepal’s political future may end.
Although, both the leaders are under pressure from the second generation leaders against split of the party, the two leaders have not been able to find a point of agreement.
Of late, Dahal has performed flexibility by asking Oli to quit the PM’s post, on the other hand, Oli has shown gesture that he may handover party responsibility to Dahal but will not step-down from the PM’s post.
