Indian intervention continues to suffer Nepal: Minister Thapa

Kathmandu, 14 July: Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa has said that India’s intervention has caused natural disasters in Nepal’s Tarai districts.

Thapa, addressing the parliamentary committee on Monday, said that the Indian structures constructed across the international borders have stopped the natural flow of rivers by inundating Nepali land.

The unilateral construction of roads and other structures in the Indian side has blocked the natural flow of the rivers inundating Nepal side, said Minister Thapa.

The problem of floods in Tarai districts especially during the rainy season has increased due to the Indian intervention, Thapa said.
