Kathmandu, 11 July: Poet Devendra Shakten has been rewarded with this year’s Jasuda Memorial Award.
The meeting of the Bhanu Pratibha Samrakchan Samiti, Ilam, chaired by noted poet Bimal Baidhya held recently has nominated Shakten for this year’s Jasuda Memorial Award commending his contribution in the field of Nepali literature.
The award worth ten thousand rupees will be handed over to Shakten amidst a programme to be organised on the occasion of the Bhanu Anniversary in Ilam.
Shakten is a senior poet from Eastern Nepal. He has published “Dantyakathko Desh”, a compilation of his poems.
The award has been established by the Jasuda Memorial Fund in honour of late journalist and literate from Ilam, Jasuda (Khaki) Pradhan.
