Kathmandu, 13 July: The government has claimed that the Covid-19 infected cases have been declined in Nepal, which, experts say false.
Until 12 July, the total number of Covid-19 infected cases was recorded at 16,801, and in 24 hours, only 82 fresh cases were identified.
In the 24 hours, only 3,916 swabs were tested, in spite of the government’s claim for conducting a minimum of 10 thousand swab tests per day.
As the government has reduced the number of swab tests, a decline in Covid-19 infection has been witnessed, say experts.
“The government is playing with the life of the general public, they say and actual infected number may reach five times more than the government record.
Expressing dissatisfaction on the government act, Dr Bhagwan Koirala, chairman of the Nepal Medical Council, has twitted that as the government neglected his demand for conducting more and more swab tests, he has stopped attending meetings related to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Moreover, the Kathmandu Valley is in a vulnerable state as every day, new cases have been identified in the Valley and the government has neglected to increase the sample test.
