India demonstrating military strength
By Our Political Analyst
India and China, immediate neighbours of Nepal empowered with nuclear-arms, engaged in violent clash on Monday resulting death of around 20 military personnel including one commander in the Indian side on Monday, 15 June, at India-China border in Ladakh.
Casualties have also been made in the Chinese side, yet, there is no official confirmation, reports state.
India-China clash:
The Chinese side has alleged that as the Indian force violated the Actual Line of Control in disputed territory in the Galwan Valley in Ladakh, the Chinese PLA force to clash with the Indian force.
The Indian side, on the other hand, has alleged the Chinese force for violating the Actual Line of Control.
Although, India-China standoff has been witnessed time and again in the recent days, this is the first time in the past 45 years that both the sides have faced casualties.
Escalating dispute:
India is constructing Indo-China border road, on which, China has objected. Both the sides are blaming each other for crossing the Actual Line of Control time and again, resulting faceoff time and again.
To normalize the situation, senior military officers from both the countries held bilateral talks on 6 June in Ladakh. In spite of high-level understanding to normalize the situation, standoff and violent clash between the two forces have been witnessed in Ladakh.
Chinese mood:
China is not in a mood to open war with India at a time when she is engaged in war in different fronts with the US. Nevertheless, China has not undermined possible attacks on China from different countries at once. Chinese President Xi Jinping, addressing the PLA recently, had said to be prepared to counter any possible was on China.
India demonstrating strength:
If watched or visited the Indian TV channels and other media outlets, the Indians are found crying against China saying, “This is not India of 1962, this is India of 2020, a powerful India.”
It seems, India even holds the strength to defeat super power America.
The Chinese side has maintained softness and never exaggerated the situation. China is in a mood to normalize the tension.
By taking the benefit of the situation or say knowing the Chinese mood, India wants to demonstrate her military strength.
All are aware that since Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi assumed the office for the second time with strong mandate from the people, he has started to project himself as a superman.
India is performing dominating role with all her small neighbours. India wants to demonstrate herself as the regional power by demonstrating faceoff or any kind of surgical war with China in the near future, say analysts.
Modi believes that he may bag support from the US in war with China. He however, has not gone through the past history that how the leaders backed by the America have been collapsed and how the countries under the American support have been spoiled, say foreign relations experts.
