
Kathmandu, 18 May: The Parliamentary Committee has asked the government to defy Indian army chief Manoj Narvane’s statement on Kalapani.
The International Relations Committee in the Federal Parliament has asked the government to send a diplomatic note countering Narvane’s recent objectionable statement related to Kalapani, Nepali territory.
The Indian army chief on 15 May had stated that Nepal, being provoked by someone else, has raised the issue of Kalapani border dispute.
He was hinting towards China for provoking Nepal to claim on Kalapani territory.
The Committee has instructed the government to protest against the statement through the diplomatic channel between Nepal and India.
The Committee has sad that the army chief’s statement was irresponsible and provocative, reports Annapurna Post daily.
